Responsibilities

The main purpose of this position includes:

  1. Management and Maintenance of specific Regulatory and/or Quality Compliance programs within Nippon Express Americas, including related Monitoring and Routine Reporting, Advisement & Communication (including TSA IACSSP & CCSP and Export Administration Regulations)
  2. Alternate Communication point for Regulatory Agencies (TSA, CBP, BIS, DOT, etc.)
  3. Development and Dissemination of Regulatory Compliance Directives and Interpretation & Guidance to management, to include TSA IACSSP & CCSP and Export Administration regulations.
  4. Participation in Internal and External Audit activity and development of executive analyses.
  5. Development of Content related to Regulatory and/or Quality Management system compliance, including Sites/Databases, Internal Audits, Training and other systems in order to support the company’s overall Regulatory Compliance and various Accreditations and Certifications managed by CMD and Q-CMT.
  6. Participation in Committee responsibilities and act as a cross-divisional liaison.
  7. Participation in Export Compliance Control Team activities

 

Essential Duties:

  1. Auditing
    1. Develop Content for and coordinate updates to scheduled Internal Audits.
    2. Participate in Internal Audit Program as an Auditor and Audit Manager.
    3. Prepare stations for, and participate in, External Audit activity.
    4. Ensure audit schedules are being carried out.
    5. Close Audits, Issue Nonconformance Reports (CAPA, Action Items, etc.) and provide analysis and reporting on audit results.
    6. Ensure that closure of Audits and Nonconformance Reports is taking place and results are analyzed and reported.

 

  1. Quality & Compliance
    1. Participate in KPI criteria development, monitor & Compile Data for Analysis related to KPI results
    2. Manage access control policies and Update Access control levels of staff with designated systems.
    3. Create, Revise, Distribute and Maintain Policies, Procedures, and other related materials. Assist, cross-divisionally, in the management of content on corporate sites.
    4. Act as liaison between CMD/QCMT and NEU Divisions, promoting a collaborative environment of understanding and development.
    5. Initiate and obtain quotes for Equipment / IT / ISD related development related to compliance.
  2. Training
    1. Monitor compliance with related regulatory and security areas, including TSA IACSSP & CCSP and Export Administration Regulations.
    2. Develop and Deploy Training Materials and provide training/seminars in key areas of Regulatory knowledge, as needed.
  3. Regulatory / Security
    1. Support TSA Security Threat Assessment (STA) review, submission, and disassociation processes and communications.
    2. Support Authorized Representative approval, maintenance, and disassociation processes.
    3. Provide research and guidance on policies governing TSA IACSSP & CCSP and Export Administration Regulations.
    4. Participate in Export Compliance Control Team (ECCT), including coordination of Regional & Branch ECCT Member training, providing export regulation guidance and interpretation to Branch Staff, and approving Licensed Export / Restricted Destination AES filings.
    5. Promote expansion of existing Regulatory and Quality System compliance to applicable locations, including researching of standards identified by Customers and Internal business Units which have potential application to our business.
  4. Reporting
    1. Collect and compile data analysis, Develop reports and present related Divisional and Corporate Committee meetings.
    2. Develop and Disseminate Compliance Directives and Communicate announcements via email and Notices to respective regions and stations.
    3. Provide Expense reports in accordance with travel and purchasing requirements.
    4. Support addressing of issues related to violations, mitigations or other disclosures and related review and analysis of results.

Qualifications

  • Associates, Bachelors or Equivalent/Related Industry experience
  • Advanced Knowledge of MS Office Products, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and SharePoint
  • Very Strong organization and communication skills
  • Capability to schedule, organize and work independently.
  • Minimum 5 Years working knowledge of applicable Regulatory & Industry Standards (preferably related to TSA Regulations, Export Administration / Foreign Trade Regulations, Licensed Export Transactions, Carnets, Letters of Credit, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of Compliance and Performance Standards (ISO 9001, AS9120, etc.) preferred.
  • Strong Teamwork skills
  • Capable of supporting staff within the operational hours of Western US Time Zones
  • Some National Travel, as required.

The pay range for this role is $72,000 - $84,000.

    • Provides oversight of activities being handled by the Divisions and Stations
