Responsibilities

Primary Duties:

  • Responsible for managing regional/local sales team
  • Responsible for both team revenue goals and individual account revenue targets
  • Responsible for overall day-to-day team sales activity to include territory management, joint calls, coaching, etc.
  • Responsible for meeting team revenue targets and allocation of sales resources
  • Conduct weekly, monthly sales meetings and report progress/results to Sr. Management
  • Revenue Responsibility – Sales Manager has 100% Revenue
  • Responsibility for both Team and Individual Targets

 

Sales Activity Expectations:

  • Established Annual Revenue Target
  • Weekly Sales Expectations – active sales 3-4 days per week (8-10 calls
  • per week – includes joint calls)
  • Update Prospect Management Account list on a weekly basis
  • New Business reported and maintained on a monthly basis
  • Supports and Manages sales team activities – pricing, coaching, joint
  • calls, etc.
  • Attend and report sales activity on a weekly basis via direct meeting or conference call

Salary: $110,000 - $120,000 

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements, Education, and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent, in marketing, business administration, economics. 
  • 5 plus years of business experience which should include
  • Significant experience in sales and marketing preferably in a freight forwarding/logistics business
  • Experience supervising/g sales functions and staff 
  • Significant experience in sales staff development and training
  • Several years experience in general management concepts such as planning, accounting, administration, and economics.
  • Valid state motor vehicle operator's license. Willingness to travel extensively in Branch territory.

  • NEU Prospect Management System
  • Strong self-motivation and strategic focus
  • Ability to effectively manage and motivate local sales staff and produce revenue results
  • Organization skills – effectively set up sales team structure, reporting procedures and ability to track results
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Strong coaching skills. Coach and mentor Regional/Local sales staff
