Responsibilities

 

As the Operations Supervisor for the Distribution Perris, California site, this role is responsible for:   

Operations Involvement:

  • Manage and supervise personnel and business activities of the warehouse under the guidance of the Operations Manager.
  • Oversee all departmental Warehouse functions according to but not limited to your assigned department (Inbound, Outbound, Inventory management & VAS teams), Safety & Security, Operations Planning, Information Systems (submitting tickets to the customer, printer trouble shooting, etc), Facility General Affairs to ensure proper staffing and the ability to handle daily customer demands on a consistent basis.  

Operations Management:

  • Consistently patrol your assigned department to ensure that all workers are performing their tasks efficiently, without any irregularities, and in strict compliance with our standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Take immediate corrective action as needed.

Leadership and Team Development:

  • Follow through and execute on current SOPs and generate new SOPs for any required functions in the warehouse operation without fail.
  • Promote a 5S workplace.
  • Assist in improvement activities for departmental operations.
  • Train or ensure Warehouse staff are trained in effective operations, safety & security.
  • Ensure associates are compliant per policy in dress, mannerisms, Etc.

Issue Resolution:

  • Investigate the root cause of issues, assist in creating, and implement countermeasures, and report findings to the Management team. Upon the request of the Management team, acknowledge the issue to the customer. Assist Ops Management to roll out new countermeasure to warehouse management/staff once it has been approved by the customer and NX management team and ensure that it is being followed 100%.
  • Address associate concerns or escalate in a timely manner.
  • Communicate all labor force issues, concerns, requests with on-site agency supervisors.

Employee Management:

  • Create weekly shift schedules for agency personnel 

Communication and Customer Service:

  •  Attend all required meetings physically and report on activities as needed.
  • Please ensure that all topics discussed between customer and upper management is relayed to floor staff.
  • Respond to and communicate all customer requests within a 2-hour window while including management team members 
  • Additionally, operation supervisors will proactively verify that all departmental operations are being conducted in accordance with the current SOP. If any deviations are identified, Ops Supervisors will assist in investigating the root causes and ensure that all staff are held accountable to adhere to the SOP.

KPI:

  • Evaluate the productivity of each departmental operation.
  • Identify under performers, coach, mentor & hold staff accountable.
  • Provide feedback on productivity, errors, coaching, or mentoring of staff that were held accountable and any other necessary information to NX Management, leads, assistant team leads, and associates.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Proactively verify that all operations are being conducted in accordance with the current SOP.
  • Investigate root causes and ensure that all staff adhere to the SOP.
  • Collaborate with the Management Team to determine the reasons for changes to the SOP.

Other duties as assigned to meet the operations demands.

Pay Range: $70,000/ year. This range is a good faith estimate of the expected salary range for this position, based on a wide range of factors including qualifications, experience and training, operational and business needs and other considerations permitted by law.  At NEU, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for the role.
