Responsibilities

Purpose: 

 

The purpose of a Regional Human Resources Manager is to provide guidance, counsel, and advice to approximately 175 employees in the Northwest Region of Nippon Express, USA.  You will be responsible to lead HR Operations for nine sites in the Region. The ideal candidate should be an HR leader who has excellent judgement focused on continuous improvement, positive employee relations, aligning HR programs with strategic objectives, and experience with multistate HR operations.

In this role you will also establish positive relationships with managers and other site leaders, demonstrating proven business knowledge to provide beneficial HR strategies and solutions.

This opportunity is based in Jamacia, NY working onsite 4 days a week and 1 day remotely.

 

Essential Duties:

  • Provide counsel and guidance regarding personnel related issues to the Regional Vice President as well as managers and supervisors across region.
  • Must be able to proactively manage a broad scope of initiatives & interactions from handling individual employee relations issues to providing advising to, and closely partnering with, management to effectively own the people-related initiatives and the functions within the region.
  • Drive continuous improvement and consistency of processes to deliver exceptional support across the region.
  • Data - Tracks, analyzes, and uses appropriate workforce data from HRIS and other sources to make fact-based organization and people decisions.
  • Analyze regional organizational structures and processes to determine effectiveness from HR perspective, designing and recommending organizational development changes as needed.
  • Assess training and development needs in region.
  • Present training programs region wide.
  • Research and respond to employee concerns and investigate claims and allegations, document findings, recommend, and implement resolution.
  • Inform Corporate Human Resources of benefit and payroll concerns raised by client group.
  • Lead recruiting effort for region.
  • Manage work authorization process assuring compliance with appropriate immigration laws and regulations.
  • Other appropriate duties as requested.

Salary Range: $90,000 to $120,000 annually  

 

This salary range is a good faith estimate of the expected salary range for this position, based on a wide range of factors including qualifications, experience and training, operational and business needs and other considerations permitted by law.  At NEU, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for the role.

 

 

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • 5 years broad Human Resource experience with substantive accomplishments in all functional areas.
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state employment and labor laws and regulations.
  • Ability to read and interpret applicable labor laws and regulations and to determine appropriate steps to take to assure compliance by NEU.
  • Strong knowledge of organizational development techniques and strategies. Proven ability to analyze ineffective structures and relationships and to develop effective solutions to correct problem areas.
  • Ability to independently use HRIS systems.
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office software products.
  • Ability to travel up to 20% between facilities to meet business needs.
