Responsibilities

The  Vice President of Global Sales will be responsible for growing Nippon Express USA’s business.  Achieve revenue targets by securing business with new global customers and selling additional services to current global customers.

 

Primary Duties:

 

  • Reporting of business performance, budget, and outstanding collection.
  • Managing the department to enforce compliance, training, and other policies among sales operations.
  • Facilitating department needs related to talent acquisition, hiring, performance evaluations, and employee succession planning and development within CSHQ.
  • Evaluate overall department performance utilizing metrics systems. 
  • Conduct research and analysis projects of key industry trends.
  • Formulate and implement sales strategies. 
  • Provide KPI and progress management. 
  • Maintain Global customers' contracts.  
  • Coordinate, negotiate, and implement global accounts with other regions.
  • Promote joint business with subcompanies. 
  • Maintain global customer account records. 
  • Maintain and build relationships with long-term and new customer support partners. 
  • Develop sales strategies related to specific customers.
  • Promote sales support, guidance, and coordination to branches and divisions in NEU and the Americas region group companies.
  • Matters related to providing sales support, with a focus on priority industries.
  • Other tasks assigned as the business progresses.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements, Education, and Experience:

 

  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent, in marketing, business administration, or economics.
  • 8+ years of business experience, which should include
  • Significant experience in sales and marketing, preferably in a freight forwarding/logistics business
  • Experience supervising/g sales functions and staff
  • Significant experience in sales staff development and training
  • 5+ years of experience in general management concepts such as planning, accounting, administration, and economics.
  • Valid state motor vehicle operator's license. Willingness to travel extensively in the Branch territory.

  • Strong self-motivation and strategic focus – ability to quickly identify key decision makers and opportunities.
  • Ability to close business – clearly identify short and long-term Global Opportunities
  • High level of negotiating skills – ability to negotiate global contracts and processes.
  • Strong coaching skills. Coach and mentor the Regional/Local Sales staff
